Re:
Update on our parks work
The
Parks Committee which meets on the second Wednesday of the month at 7:30 pm at
LHA offices welcomes all volunteers to join us.
For
the last few months we have been busy putting together a long range plan for our
parks, mainly Oak Grove and the park at the office.
Our plans for Oak Grove include taking out some invasive species,
clearing brush, and replanting oaks, redwood, and buckeye along with some other
undercover species. In the office
park we are taking out some overgrown plants, invasive species, and plan to try
adding some more color to the park.
We
have had a couple of great work party events where we have pruned plants and
spread mulch. If you have interest
in helping us occasionally, please call Claudia at the office and give her your
email address so we can notify you when we are having our next event.
Oak
Grove, like all of our park areas, is available to dog owner only if they keep
their dogs on leash. The City of
Oakland Animal Control will be randomly patrolling Oak Grove Park and issuing
citations to people that continue to disobey our on-leash
dog policy. Please be
courteous to your neighbors and other park users by obeying all rules and be
sure to pick up after your dogs and carry it home with you.
Remember the parks are for the benefit of all home owners within
the association.
There
are a number of off-lease parks in the area that you can use if you want your
